Episodes follow an Afghan man who fought in the Civil War, a Syrian-Lebanese community who settled in rural North Dakota in the early 1900s, mixed marriages between Punjabi Muslims and Mexican Catholics in California, the first photograph of Black Muslim women from 1920s Chicago, an enslaved men who got his portrait painted by a renown artist in Washington D.C., and Thomas Jefferson's famous Quran.
